Stuffed Cookies Hailing from the South
If you have a cookie addiction, what type of cookies do you prefer? I have stated this in the past; I love the soft and chewy kind. I am not surprised that I liked the cookies I received from Sweet Mae’s Co. Hype App Experiences arranged the media kit I received from Sweet Maes’s Co, so thank you Hype App.
Sweet Mae’s Co is a company hailing from the south, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Sweet Mae’s is a premium stuffed cookie company with a southern accent. With generations of cooking as their love language, Sweet Mae’s strive to pass down this love for cooking, through their cookie creations, to more generations in the future. This company also ships anywhere in the United States.
What draw me to these cookies is their unique shape and thickness. As I have mentioned in the past, I love brown butter cookies, as they not only make the cookies chewier, they also add a nutty flavour profile. What set Sweet Mae’s apart to their competitors are the stuffed elements and the choice of cookie shape. I have not seen this shape in other cookies, and believe me I have seen so many on my Instagram feed alone and I have also tried various kinds. I love the packaging of the cookies I received as they are individually packaged in a plastic container with a sticker. The sticker not only included the logo of the brand, it indicated the flavour, the description of each flavour, nutritional facts, ingredients, allergy information and their website. As someone who controls her portions, this for me is very helpful.
The flavours I received in the mail are the following: Lemon + Cookie Butter Pie, Peanut Butter + Chocolate, Chocolate Chunk Birthday Cake, Cinnamon Crumble Carrot Cake and Sea Salt Nutella Chocolate Chunk. Out of all the flavours I received, I opted to try the Chocolate Chunk Birthday Cake as the sprinkles drew me in. What I find in cookies is the lack of colour to draw the customers in. I highly appreciated the addition of the sprinkles as it added the pop of colour I am normally craving for in visual appeal. Even though there was the addition of sprinkles, it did not drive the sugar level of the cookies over the edge.
As for my favourite flavour, I loved their rendition of the Cinnamon Crumble Carrot Cake. This is actually the first time I have tried a carrot cake flavour cookie with the addition of cinnamon crumble. The South elements come into play here as they were able to combine the apple crumble and carrot cake elements into a cookie, and it was a smashing success. I love carrot cake for its simplicity in flavours, so the addition of the crumble surprised my palate with an extra texture. It was also soft and chewy. Coming in second place was the Lemon Cookie. As someone who does not enjoy citrus desserts, I found this pleasurable to consume. The punch of lemon flavour with the nuttiness of the brown butter was just the right amount for me.
Overall, if you want to try something different or if you are just basically craving for some cookies, definitely give Sweet Mae’s a go.
